Guys this year's party is pretty much over :rolleyes:....whts the point debating something whether right or wrong which pretty much nobody can do anything about except went frustration from whichever side of the isle one sits on.....
As per Mr C.O. of USCIS I guess they have sent out the party invitation for the year so I guess there is no point sniping at each other. New inivitations will start from July next yr...;)

I just visited last month. I stayed there for 6 weeks...
Agree that economy is booking but....
(1) too much pollution.
(2) No infrastructure to handle cars and two wheeleers.
(3) too much mosquito even in winter/summer. I do not know what will happen in rainy days.
(4) prices for every item have gone up by 3X..Most of the item I am not able to justify the rise. The quality of the product has not gone up.
(5) easy to set up business..get house...get car but tough to drive peacefully...need to pray god every morning so that we come back home with 2 hands and 2 legs and unbroken body parts.
(6) Club culture is booming too...so if you have daughter who is teen then need to check by that angle too.
Just my two cents....

there is something that pulls me back to and we are also thinking we will go back in the next couple of years. It will not be easy as we love this country too...but then one of the main reasons we are going back is the way is the culture here... I am not very comfortable with the culture here and would like my kids to have the Indian culture...I agree there is a lot of westernization back home too...but I guess there is some hope there still to have a little control on the kids...or help them go the right way...here I am not saying it is wrong...but is a totally different culture....which is what I am not able to digest....
Also, we are alone here no family or extended family and that too is not easy (I think)

I respect this country a lot and love this country (and my country too -:) ...I am what I am today because of India and US.
If we end up going (I am sure at some point we will), we will always be greatful to America !!!

Let me first of all thank you for taking a strong stand for your highly skilled employees at this critical time. I am on an H1b visa and am a certified professional working in this country. I just wanted to ask you a few question. The biotech firms employ a lot of people on H1b visas. How come none of them, excluding Genentech, is included in the compete america group's letter to the congress. I strongly feel and pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, other biotech companies should also be included to stand for the H1b visa and green card issue for their employees. Seccond question I would like to ask is about the provision to renew the H1b in increment of 3 years each after the 6th year, which apparently has been taken off in this new CIR bill. This is a very technical issue and employers would not want to loose the trained employees after the 6th year period. It does not make any sense to refuse renewability of the H1b after 6 years since by that time that employee has already become an asset to the company or this nation. Please make sure to stand for that particular issue. H1b should be renewable in increments of 3 years each if the GC has been filed by the 5th year. Let me thank you for successfully campaigning for increasing the H1b numbers and hopefully this will enable me to move from my present acadamic position (Ast Prof at XXXXXX) to an Industry. CPO today. Case at local office. Had 1 interview where all documents for status and taxes were checked for the past 12 years. Never had a problem or gap in status and IO was surprised why the case came to local office. I was atleast happy that the interview is the worst thing that can happen and I am done through that.
After 3 infopass appts, 2 SRs in all have the CPO in hand.

Looks like they are processing EAD and AP (in the mail room itself:) ) along with receipts. No point in touching the same application twice or thrice. If you get a receipt then you should also get EAD and AP:):).
It's very frustrating.. TSC is sitting on our application or what? Approx 30K application are there for July 2nd filer including NSC->TSC transfer(per old NYT report). We see reporting of 1 or 2 receipting a day then few quite days. :mad::mad::mad:
It will approx 60 days since filing and still waiting for Receipt. What a heck..

GC holder's marriage (regardless of their stream) to indian citizen (derivative) will make the indian citizen wait for atleast 5 years ( based on current vb date for fb2a or gc sponsor becoming citizen in 5 years ). Why are you tying N400 eligibility with this ? regardles of the interpretation any gc have to show ( 5years presence, atleast 6+ months a year, 30 months etc) to become eligible to become USC ? You could be referring to a special and/or complex case of lot or large reentry permit ?
Expect for some rare special cases of long reentry permits, This interpretation I am suggesting will neither enhance their condition or make it worse for any derivative already-in or newly-entering FB2A.
I read some were 88k visas are available for FB2A. I think they are safe.
Look at the EB3 mess. Is it in any way fair for EB-primary to wait that long ?

I would strongly recommend that. I was in India few months back and the person suffering from lung cancer had got cured by practicing Pranayama day in and day out for nearly 1 month. He was given 45 days time by the doctor, as the tumor had burst in one of the lungs.
But he had faith and got over the problem in a month's time. Doctors were surprised as well!
I would suggest you do that as well. At least discuss the options with him.

EAD was about to expire before 90 days, so I took an infopass apt. The person that heard my case (soolemaga) was a d**k. Rude and impossible to communicate with. Anyway, he sent an email to someone at TSC after much cajoling and I get a call the same day from some nice lady from TSC. She says that my application for EAD is approved and I should get my card in 2 weeks. 2 days after I get the call from TSC, I get an email that card production is ordered!
I had initially called USCIS support with an expediate request citing Severe financial loss and I got a letter back that they are very strict processing expediate requests as they get a lot of such requests. So they had asked me to wait.
Hope this information helps someone!

H1B quotas for 2001, 2002 and 2003 were 195000. Three times the norm. This could be the reason they quotas were not met during those years. Sure market conditions also helped.
I thinks EB3 INDIA will move between 9/11/2001 to JAN 2004 , because after 9/11 probably few people applied for GreenCrd because of market condition, even h1b quotas are not used for 2002 and 2003, i applied for h1b on 2004 April , no surprise the quota available because of market condition.
